MULTICRETE - COLOURPOINT (COLOURED POINTING MORTAR GUN GRADE 25Kg)
Colourpoint coloured pointing mortar is a premixed dry pack mortar which provides a water resistant, low shrinkage and decorative mortar. Colourpoint is designed primarily for use with a pointing gun.
Uses
Colourpoint is suitable for re-pointing of Brickwork, Stone, Block Paving, Flagstones, Ridge Tiles, sealing holes after DPC injection etc.
Surface Preparation
Rake out defective mortar to a depth of 6mm - 15mm.
Flush out with compressed air, then water, leaving joints damp.
Do not over wet as this can cause efflorescence or lime bloom.
Mixing/Application
Add approx' 4 litres of water to each 25Kg bag/bucket.
Mix with a slow speed drill using a flat blade mixer and blend to a homogenous, thick creamy consistency.
When filling the gun, fill to within 12mm of top. Shake to remove any air.
From the face of the masonry, place the nozzle in to the joint at least 4mm deep, filling vertical joints (perpends) first.
Finish horizontal joints after 1-2 metres of joint have been filled.
Always start at the bottom.
When mortar has lost it's sheen, strike the joint to required shape.
Brush off excess when dry but before final set.
Working time is approx' 30 minutes.
Curing
Cover work with damp hessian to avoid rapid drying.
In hot drying weather, mist/spray the hessian with water.
Rain soaked masonry could lead to efflorescence and/or lime bloom if applying to substrate which is highly porous or in fast drying weather.
In such inclement weather, the use of plastic covering is recommended.
Coverage
25Kg covers approx' 4m2
Storage
As with all cement based products, store off the floor in cool, dry, frost free conditions in original packaging.
General Notes
Use sufficient weather protection if rain is imminent. Pointing work should not be carried out if temperature is below 4 degrees celcius
Health & Safety
When mixing or handling the dried product wear suitable respiratory protection, gloves and eye/face masks. Do not inhale dust. Mix in a well ventilated area.
